May 29, 2026 | Men's Track & Field
LEXINGTON, Ky. — Two members of the Boston University men's track & field team competed at the NCAA East First Round on Wednesday (May 27) and Friday (May 29).
Senior Owen Faulha qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in the javelin throw on Wednesday and senior Freddy Collins competed in the 5000m on Friday, but withdrew during the race.
Faulha—who entered the meet in the first of four flights and was seeded 46th of 48 throwers—used his first throw to reach 67.88m in the event and finish ninth overall, earning him a spot in Eugene, Oregon.
In the process of qualifying, Faulha's 67.88m throw broke his own school record. He is the first Terrier thrower in the 21st century to qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
For Collins, he ends his outdoor season and his track & field career. He was a two-time All-Patriot League honoree, the 2024 Patriot League Indoor Scholar-Athlete of the Year and a two-time USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete and two-time CSC Academic All-District honoree.
Faulha will compete for a national title on Wednesday, June 10, at Hayward Field in Eugene. The event is scheduled for 6:15 p.m. PT and 9:15 p.m. ET.
