
Three Terriers Set for NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships

EUGENE, Ore. — Seniors Owen Faulha, Ellie Roan and Peace Omonzane of the Boston University track & field program are set for the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships beginning Wednesday, June 10 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.
For the first time since 2014, the Terriers have qualified three individual participants to the biggest stage in NCAA track & field. The Terriers are also the only Patriot League program to have three participants this year, with Bucknell (2), Army West Point (1) and Navy (1) also sending representatives to Eugene.
Faulha will begin the action for the Terriers in the javelin throw on Wednesday, June 10 at 9:15 p.m. ET. To qualify for the NCAA Championships, Faulha threw a personal best and school record of 67.88m at the NCAA East First Rounds on May 27, finishing ninth in the field of 48 throwers.
The next competitor for the Terriers will be Roan, who is set to make her NCAA Championships debut in the hammer throw on Thursday, June 11 at 5:30 p.m. ET. Like Faulha, Roan threw a personal best and school record at the NCAA East First Rounds to qualify, finishing fifth with a 64.22m throw.
Finishing up the Terriers' week will be Omonzane, who qualified in the long jump and will compete at 9:40 p.m. ET on Thursday, June 11. She reached 6.25m at the NCAA East First Rounds and finished 11th to earn a trip West to Oregon.
Each Terrier is in a field of 24 athletes and will have three attempts in their respective events to qualify for nine spots in the final. The top eight finishers in each event earn USTFCCCA First Team All-America status, while finishers nine through 16 are Second Team All-Americans and finishers 17 through 24 earn All-America Honorable Mentions.
