Ibrahim missed all of his freshman year and half of his redshirt-freshman year due to injury...an athletic forward who is an imposing presence in the middle and has great timing/shot-blocking ability... will play the four and must show good discipline on the offensive end... a potential starter, or one of the top big men off the bench.
2006-07 HIGHLIGHTS (Sophomore): Played in 27 games, starting 11... averaged 2.6 ppg and 2.9 rpg in 15.5 minutes per game... scored 1.9 points and 2.7 rebounds per game in America East play... second on the team in blocks (15)... led the team in rebounds four times and in steals three times... started the first eight games of the season and averaged 4.6 ppg and 3.6 rpg... tied career highs in rebounds (eight versus New Hampshire, 1/13) and blocks (three at Saint Joseph[apos]s on 11/27 and Vermont, 2/5)... scored eight points on 4-for-4 shooting at Manhattan (11/25)... had one of his best games of the season versus New Hampshire (1/13) - six points and eight rebounds in a season-high 28 minutes... America East tournament... totaled one point, two rebounds, one assist and one block in the loss to Albany on March 4.
2005-06 HIGHLIGHTS (Redshirt Freshman): Began the season as a starter and ended up averaging 4.1 ppg and 3.8 rpg... in four America East contests, the averages were 1.3 ppg and 2.8 rpg... missed a game vs. Albany (1/12) due to an injured right ankle, then missed the final 11 regular season games as well as the America East tournament in order to concentrate on academics... started first nine games of the season, and averaged 5.8 ppg and 4.7 rpg as a starter... began the year with an impressive performance at No. 1 Duke (11/14), scoring six points, grabbing five rebounds and establishing career-highs in blocked shots (2) and steals (3)... eight points, four boards and two more rejections vs. Rhode Island (11/29)... career-high 13 points in 31 minutes at No. 22 George Washington (12/2)... went 6-for-7 from the field and also hauled down five boards and had two blocks vs. Colonials... career-high seven rebounds on two occasions: vs. Harvard (12/6) and vs. Bucknell (12/28)... nine points vs. UC Riverside (12/29) were his best total off the bench... best three-game stretch came 11/29 - 12/6, when he averaged 9.7 ppg and shot 13-18 (.722) from the field vs. URI, GW and Harvard.
2004-05 HIGHLIGHTS (Freshman): Sat out the entire season with a right leg injury.
BEFORE BOSTON UNIVERSITY (Worcester Academy): Spent a post-graduate year at Worcester Academy, earning the Hilltoppers[apos] Most Valuable Player award... averaged 15 points, 8 rebounds and 3 blocked shots per game... as a senior at Sharon (Pa.) High School, was named team MVP after averaging a triple-double - 13 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 blocked shots per game... a dominant shot-blocking center at Sharon, helping the Tigers to back-to-back Mercer County Athletic Conference Championships in 2002 and 2003... named second-team all-state during his junior season... before arriving in the U.S. was a member of the Mali Junior National Team... selected as the MVP and was named to the all-tournament team of the LaRoche Christmas Classic... the Tigers won the tournament with a 67-65 overtime win over Pine-Richland.
PERSONAL: Born March 20, 1985 in Bamako, Mali... son of Oumou Traore and Seydou Konate... enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences as a computer science major.
