Pertti Hasanen

Pertti Hasanen enters his second season as the director of hockey operations at Boston University. He served two previous stints as an assistant coach under Parker for a combined five seasons before returning to the Terriers once again in 2010.

Hasanen joined Parker's staff in 1988 and was an assistant for two seasons before leaving to take a similar position with the Springfield Indians of the AHL. In 1992, he returned to his native Finland to coach in the Finnish League. He returned to BU in 1995 and served as an assistant for three more seasons.

Most recently, Hasanen served as the European Head Scout for the Los Angeles Kings from 2007-09. He held the same position with the Calgary Flames from 2001-04.

Hasanen earned coaching degrees from the Varala and Vierumaki Sports Institutes in 1978 and 1979, respectively, before serving as head coach for two squads (Fops, Peliitat) in the Finnish 1st Division. He then headed to the United States to become an assistant at UMass Lowell from 1984-88.
