Katie Linnertz enters her third season as an assistant coach for the Boston University women's lacrosse program in 2010.
Linnertz wrapped up a standout collegiate career at George Mason in 2007, where she was a four-year starter on defense for head coach Amy Bokker and is ranked fifth on the Patriots' career caused turnovers list with 93. She helped the Patriots finish amongst the top five teams in the country in caused turnovers per game during three different seasons. In 2005, she was named to the All-Colonial Athletic Association Second Team.
Linnertz was also selected to participate in the 2007 IWLCA North-South Senior All-Star Game.
A two-time recipient of the CAA Commissioner's Academic Award, Linnertz also twice earned a spot on the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Association Academic Honor Roll. She earned her bachelor's degree in government and international politics from George Mason University in 2007.
Before playing at GMU, Linnertz was a two-year captain at Cicero-North Syracuse High School and earned team MVP honors as a senior.
