Kevin Edelson was promoted to associate director of athletic communications in August 2021. He joined the Boston University Department of Athletics in September 2011. He serves as the primary contact for the Terriers' men's ice hockey and men's lacrosse programs.
Edelson's work with the women's ice hockey team's Twitter account was recognized by The Athletic in April 2020, as it was named one of “50 hockey Twitter accounts to follow right now."
During his tenure at BU, Edelson has coordinated campaigns for 2024 Hobey Baker Award winner Macklin Celebrini, two-time Hobey Baker top-10 finalist Lane Hutson (2023 and 2024), and Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award top-three finalists Marie-Philip Poulin (2015) and Victoria Bach (2018). He has also promoted over 30 All-Americans, including two-time First Team All-American Roy Meyer (men's lacrosse) and 2025 First Team All-American Cole Hutson (men's ice hockey).
Edelson has served as the media coordinator for three Women's Beanpot tournaments at Walter Brown Arena, including the 2020 event that set records for attendance by both media and fans. He was also the media coordinator for the 2020 Women's Frozen Four, which was scheduled to be held at Agganis Arena prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the Patriot League Men's Lacrosse Championship in 2022 and 2023.
No stranger to BU, Edelson graduated from the College of Communication in 2009 with a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism. While a student, he served as sports director at WTBU and was the play-by-play broadcaster for the men's ice hockey team during its national championship season. Edelson's call of the Terriers' dramatic third period comeback against Miami won him a 2010 New England Associated Press award for best college sports play-by-play.
Prior to returning to BU, Edelson served as a Jack Grinold Sports Information Intern at Northeastern University from August 2010 to September 2011. While there, he was the primary contact for women's ice hockey and field hockey, as well as the secondary contact for men's ice hockey.
Before he began his career in athletic communications, Edelson served as an associate editor at Inside Hockey, where he covered Hockey East during the 2009-10 season. He continued to work with Inside Hockey through the 2011 Stanley Cup Playoffs, covering the Boston Bruins during their championship run. He also completed internships at The Boston Globe and The New England Hockey Journal.
A native of Braintree, Massachusetts, Edelson currently resides in Brookline with his wife and daughter.
