Roger "Moose" Washburn earned his first varsity letter in football as a freshman tackle right after World War I and won three more before graduating in 1924.
Not only was he the Football team captain in 1921-Moose was also the captain of the Terrier Swim team-And he was one of the best divers in New England.
Moose was selected as All-East Tackle in 1922-23 and All-New England tackle in 1921-22. He was selected to the pre-1947 All-Time 60 Minute Football Team and served as line coach at the University for 15 Years.
Moose was a professor at the School of Management for 40 years. He was also the first chairman of the University Hall of Fame.
