Causway takes first at Brown Invitational

Causway defeated Boston College's Nida Waseem in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3, in the final. The Terrier captain defeated teammate Lindsey Dynof (Colts Neck, NJ), 6-3, 6-2 in the quarterfinal and won in a third-set tiebreak in the semifinals against Brown's Adriana Marianella to advance to the finals, 6-4, 1-6, 10-4.
Causway and Dynof teamed up to finish second in doubles play, reaching the finals of the competitive Flight A Division by edging Lynsay Fick and Shawna Zuccarini of Purdue, 9-8, and defeating Kyli Lasalle and Nicole Cercone of Seton Hall, 8-1. The Terriers fell to Harvard's Courtney Bergman and Susanna Lingman in the final, 8-0.
Sophomore Hannah Bartell (Rancho Santa Fe, CA) did not lose a game until reaching the semifinals of the Flight D singles championship where she fell 6-3, 6-0 to eventual flight champion Kerry Meath of Brown. Bartell knocked Elisa Jimenez of Temple in the first round and Danielle Houle of Seton Hall in the quarterfinals, winning both matches, 6-0, 6-0.
Freshman Silvia Guglielmi (Rome, Italy) defeated B.C.'s Anisha Fernando, 6-3, 6-2, and Brown's Caroline Casey, 6-1, 4-6, 10-6, to reach the Flight B consolation semifinal. Guglielmi lost to eventual champion Morgan Landes of B.C., 6-4, 6-3, in the semifinal.
Sophomore Elisa Glas (Irun, Spain) defeated Seton Hall's Jasmine Walcott, 6-3, 6-3, for a quarterfinal win in the Flight C consolation round, before losing to Missy Wright of Purdue in a third-set tiebreak, 4-6, 6-3, 10-8.
Sophomore Elena de Mendoza (Madrid, Spain) and junior Alana Marcu (Leonia, NJ) both had first-round losses in the championship and consolation rounds in Flights B and C, respectively.
