February 23, 2001 | Men's Soccer
The annual Alumni Game will be one of the highlights on Saturday April 7th as the Terrier men’s soccer team will see its first action on the new FieldTurf that will cover Nickerson Field.
The alumni game will be played at 3:00 p.m. as it will be sandwiched between two games the varsity has scheduled.
The day’s activities will begin at 1:00 p.m. when the varsity hosts the University of Vermont.
Then, the alumni will battle at 3:00 p.m.
The day will conclude at 5:00 p.m. when the varsity meets the University of Rochester. That game will have an alum feeling as well as Rochester is coached by former Terrier Mike Pilger.
A four-year standout for the Terriers during the late Seventies, Pilger led the team in scoring all four of his years. He had 3-3—6 as a freshman in 1976, 11-5—16 in 1977, 7-6—13 in 1978, and 4-7—11 in 1979. His four-year total of 71 points ranks 12th on the Terriers’ all-time scoring list.
