Nationally Ranked Yale Bulldogs Blank Terriers

New Haven, CT- The nation's 75th-ranked Yale women's tennis team defeated the Terrier women's tennis team by a 7-0 margin as the Terriers' record slipped to 7-6 during the spring season.
The Bulldogs gained momentum early as Aimee Kim and Rashmee Patil defeated BU's number one doubles team of Gina Sabatino (Waltham, MA) and Monica Shepherd (Austin, TX), 8-3. In other doubles matches, the Elis' number two team of Stephanie White and Olivia Nix downed Erin Katims (Boca Raton, FL) and Aimee Charest (Somerset, MA) by a score of 8-6.
At the number one singles spot, Sabatino had the toughest match of the day. Playing the Elis' Reshmi Srinath, the Terrier freshman lost the first set, 4-6, but bounced back to win the second set, 6-4. The third set was nip-and-tuck before Srinath prevailed, 10-7.
Yale's Rashmee Patil prevailed over Katims in number two singles by winning straight sets, 6-0, 6-1. Also losing in two sets was Charest at number three singles, who fell to Kim, 6-1, 6-4.
The Bulldogs' Christine Alford and Stephanie White wrapped up Yale's wins in singles when they were victorious at numbers four and five, respectively. As number four, Alford defeated Shepherd, 6-3, 6-3, while White bested Cheri Lapane, 8-1, in their only set. Finally, at number six, Nix won by default over the Terriers' Laura Stiekema.
