SBU's Oscar Leis sent a 25-yard free kick sailing just under the cross bar past a diving Zach Riffett (Brenham, Tex.) at 79:04 to seal a conference win for the Seawolves.
Riffett played all 90:00 and made two saves for the Terriers. BU held a narrow 4-3 advantage on corner kicks, but was out-shot 17-13 by Stony Brook.
The Terriers return home for a three-game homestand, starting on Wednesday, Oct. 11, at 7 p.m. against the University of Vermont.
