
Ryan Competes in NCAA Cross Country Championships

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Senior Marisa Ryan was the sole Terrier to compete in the NCAA Cross Country Championships on Monday afternoon in Terre Haute, Ind., completing the 6-kilometer race in 22 minutes, 19.8 seconds and finishing 123 out of 253 runners.
Ryan capped off her career at BU with her first trip to the NCAA championship. This season the Farmington, Conn., native earned first-place finishes three times, including the Ted Owen Invitational on Sept. 16 and the New England Championship on Oct. 7, where she helped BU capture the team title for the third consecutive year. With a second-place finish of 17:08.4, Ryan led BU to its third straight America East championship on Oct. 28.
Ryan earned an at-large bid to nationals after her team placed sixth overall at the NCAA Northeast Regional last Saturday. Ryan completed the race in 21:24.3, finishing ninth overall, five spots higher than her 14th-place showing the previous year.
