February 26, 2007 | Men's Tennis
BOSTON - The Boston University men's tennis team posted its second consecutive 7-0 victory by defeating Sacred Heart on Sunday, Feb. 25, at the Track and Tennis Center. The win is the Terriers' third victory in a row and it improves their record to 5-3 on the season.
BU started strong by winning all three doubles matches in a convincing manner. The singles matches proved to be equally dominant, as senior Barrett Wolf (Boca Raton, Fla.), freshman Jeff Chudacoff (Highland Park, Ill.) and junior Giulio Gallarotti (Higganum, Conn.) defeated their opponents without losing a game. Junior co-captain Jared Kobren (Longboat Key, Fla.) clinched the match for the Terriers by defeating Joe Meredino, 6-2, 6-1. To finish off the day, sophomores Miron Nissim (Milan, Italy) and Tim Sichler (Los Lunas, N.M.) each won their respective matches in straight sets.
"The guys played well today," assistant coach John Gautschi said. "They took advantage of all their opportunities to get ahead in the points and really put the pressure on the other team."
The Terriers will take on the University of Rhode Island in their next match on Friday, March 2, at the Track and Tennis Center.
