Track and Field Completes Competition at IC4A, ECACs

PRINCETON, N.J. - After an exciting weekend for the Boston University men's and women's outdoor track and field teams which included three different meets, the Terriers closed out competition on Sunday participating in the final day of the IC4A and ECAC Championships.
Junior David Proctor led his team at the IC4A Championships, reaching a NCAA-qualifying mark in the 800-meter preliminaries with a time of 1:49.82. In the finals, Proctor finished fourth overall, crossing the finish line in a time of 1:50.96.
Also placing high for the Terriers was freshman Eric Ashe, who took ninth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:07.93.
At the ECAC Championships, the duo of junior Camille Hazelwood and freshman Whitney Ford led the way for the Terriers, giving BU its highest finishes of the meet. In the long jump, Hazelwood took seventh place, reaching a distance of 5.80 meters.
In the triple jump, Ford placed fifth overall, reaching a mark of 12.42 meters, which qualified her for the NCAAs. The qualifying mark for the event was set at 12.32 meters. Hazelwood also competed strong, finishing tenth with a leap of 11.75.
Several members of the Terriers squad will now get a break in the season, before competing in the NCAA Regionals on May 25 and 26.
