
Terriers Compete at New England Championship

BOSTON - The Boston University women's and men's indoor track and field teams will both send participants to this weekend's New England Championship, held at the Track and Tennis Center. The Terriers have 30 athletes that have qualified to participate in the competition.
Last weekend, the women's team won its third consecutive America East Championship, while the men's team placed fifth. Senior Marisa Ryan was the Track Performer of the Meet, sophomore Whitney Ford earned Highest Scorer of the Meet honors and BU's coaches earned Staff of the Year honors for the third consecutive year. Ford placed first in both the 55m and long jump and second in the 200m and triple jump, setting personal records in each event. Ryan won the mile run and 3000m, while on the men's side junior Jan Bicanic came out on top in the shot put and freshman Joel Senick placed second in the 400m and ran his best time this season in the 200m, finishing eighth.
The teams will compete on both Friday and Saturday at the Track and Tennis Center, with events running from 10:00 a.m. to 7:20 p.m. Friday and 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
