
Outdoor Track and Field Competes at Husky Invitational

BOSTON - The Boston University outdoor track team was represented by seven athletes at the Terriers' opening meet of the season, the Husky Invitational at Solomon Track on Saturday. Freshman Daniel Withrow was the team's highest finisher, placing second in the discus.
Withrow's 47.85m throw placed him ahead of senior Dan Martin (43.37m, 6) and sophomore Chase Carnahan (41.99m, 9). Senior Andrew Beatman finished 10th in the javelin, with juniors Chris Conroy (42.31m) and Michael Salem (35.82m) taking 20th and 26th respectively. Freshman Jen Fleser was the lone representative from the women's team, placing eighth in the hammer throw with a 38.65m distance, while Withrow finished ninth on the men's side with a 42.07m throw.
The men's and women's teams will be back in action next weekend, facing competition at the Tufts Invitational on Saturday in Medford, Mass.
