DURHAM, N.H. - The Boston University outdoor track and field team competed at the New England Championship in Durham, N.H. on Friday and Saturday, with the women's team coming in 15th and the men's side placing 28th. Junior Edwina Clark earned gold in the long jump for the women, while the senior trio of Jake Laroe, Nick Goodman and Patrick Hoye all placed in the 1500m for the men.
Laroe's 3:51.76 time was the second-fastest in the 1500m, while Goodman came in 10th with a 3:55.70 mark and Hoye placed 21st, crossing in 4:00.81. Laroe was the only Terrier to earn points at the meet, as the 1500m was the only event BU participated in on the men's side.
Clark's 5.73m jump was .27m further than the runner-up, taking the only top finish for the Terriers on the afternoon. Graduate student Kat Warden came in third in the 800m with a 2:09.71 time, while freshman Laura Martin (58.71) placed ninth in the 400m and senior Anne Wighton (4:39.70) took 16th in the 1500m.
Next weekend, both teams will be competing in Princeton, N.J., as the men send representatives to the IC4A Championship and the women participate in the ECAC Championship.
