Despite winning eight events, the Boston University men's indoor track and field team fell to Sacred Heart by an 87-47 margin on Thursday evening at the BU Track and Tennis Center. Sophomore Dan Withrow captured both throwing events and senior David Proctor, junior Jeff Moreau and sophomore Ken Haltom each won individual races before teaming to capture the 4x400m relay.
Sophomore James Weider anchored the relay team that closed the meet by posting a 3:26.47. Freshman Matt Pereira and senior Chadd Steinhauser also captured individual events at the meet.
Pereira edged junior Max Esposito to take the 200m dash with the Terrier teammates posting respective times of 22.49 and 22.51.
In the 500m dash, Moreau ran a 1:05.24 to lead the pack. Haltom posted a 4:17.63 to take the mile run and Steinhauser qualified for the IC4A Championship with a 1:54.72 in the 800m run.
Proctor also qualified for the IC4A meet with a dominating run in the 1,000m, finishing in 2:23.63, almost 10 seconds ahead of his nearest competitor.
Withrow swept the throwing events, putting the shot 15.52m and tallying a 14.48m toss in the weight throw.
The Terriers are back in action on Jan. 24, hosting the Terrier Invitational at 9 a.m. at the Track and Tennis Center.
