BOSTON - Three Terriers posted ECAC-qualifying marks to highlight action for the Boston University women's indoor track and field team at the Terrier Invitational, held Friday at the BU Track and Tennis Center. Senior Edwina Clark finished first among collegians in the long jump, while junior Sarah Mosser was second in the 1,000-meter run and freshman Shelby Walton posted top-five finishes among collegians in both the 55m and 200m dashes.

Clark leaped 5.91m in the long jump, second only to Tahari James, who was competing unattached after exhausting her eligibility in indoor track, but will return to the Terriers this outdoor season. Clark was a full half-meter better than the next-best competitor.

Mosser posted a 2:49.59 in the 1,000m to finish second behind Mary Heitkamp of Boston College, qualifying for the ECAC Championships in her second event this season, after qualifying in the mile run earlier this season.

Walton was sixth in the 200m dash, fifth among collegians, with an ECAC-qualifying 24.88. Walton has already qualified in the 55m dash and matched her season-best time with a 7.14 to finish fourth in that event behind a trio of Connecticut runners.

BU's top finishers in the other sprints were freshman Jackie Dim, who was sixth in the 400m dash with a 57.63, and senior Becky Marshburn, 19th in the 500m dash with a 1:17.53. In the 800m run, senior Katie Weider crossed eighth, posting a 2:14.47.

In the 4x400m relay, the Terrier team of Dim, Marshburn, junior Casey Jordan and Clark posted the seventh-best time with a 3:56.03, the top time for the BU relay squad this season.

Sophomore Karly Neveu tied for fourth in the high jump, clearing 1.65m and junior Fiona Romeri cleared 3.20m in the pole vault to tie for 11th place. Sophomore Alex Jackson was 12th in the triple jump with a personal-best 10.87m. Classmate Jen Fleser also set a personal best with a 13.09m toss in the weight throw.

The Terrier Invitational continues on Saturday (Jan. 24) with the men's events and the women's distance medley relay kicking off at 10:45 a.m. at the Track and Tennis Center. The BU women are back in action on Feb. 7, visiting Harvard to compete at the Battle of Beantown in Allston.
