CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -
Boston University senior Tahari James was named the America East Female Field Performer of the Week for the third consecutive week, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday. James won the triple jump at the Connecticut Spring Invitational with a mark of 13.42m, the fourth-best mark in the nation this season.
Saturday's win marked the third straight week that James has won the triple jump after capturing the event at the Pepsi Florida Relays and the Spec Towns National Team Invitational the two weeks prior. The Branford, Conn., native has already qualified for the NCAA Regionals in both the triple jump and the long jump and holds the BU records in both events.
James was also part of the 4x100m relay team that set a school record on Saturday with a time of 46.23.
Last year, James was an All-American in the triple jump in both the indoor and outdoor seasons.
James and the Terriers are back in action this weekend, competing at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia from Thursday through Saturday.
