PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Senior Erin Catarius won the 100-meter dash to highlight action for the Boston University women's outdoor track and field team at the Brown Springtime Invitational on Sunday at Brown Stadium. The 4x100m relay team also won its event and senior Becky Marshburn finished second in the 400m hurdles.

Catarius topped a 43-woman field in the 100m dash, taking the event with a time of 12.59.

The Terriers' 4x100m relay team bested four others and clocked a 47.79 to win the event.

Marshburn was second in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:01.68 and freshman Jackie Dim was sixth in the event at 1:06.19.

Freshman Mariko Takahashi posted a career-best time of 2:17.23 in the 800m run to qualify for the New England Championships with a ninth-place finish.

Other notable performances included sophomore Amanda Howard finishing sixth in the 400m dash in 58.34 and senior Edwina Clark tying for seventh in the long jump with a mark of 5.34m.

The Terriers are back in action this weekend, defending their conference championship at the America East Championships in Vestal, N.Y., on Saturday and Sunday.
