After winning two events and setting a pair of school records, senior Tahari James of the outdoor track and field team has been named the GoTerriers.com Student-Athlete of the Week. Competing at the Pepsi Florida Relays in Gainesville, Fla., this past weekend, James won the long jump and the triple jump.
James recorded a mark of 6.30m to set a new school record in the long jump and anchored the 4x400m relay team that finished in 3:47.39 to set the school record in that event. The Branford, Conn., native also recorded a 12.89m leap in the triple jump, qualifying for the NCAA Regionals in both the long jump and the triple jump. James also ran on the Terriers' 4x100m relay team that notched a season-best time of 46.72.
