FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Boston University senior Tahari James qualified for the finals in the women's triple jump at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Friday at McDonnell Field. James posted a mark of 13.34m to finish fifth in preliminaries and will compete in the finals at 1 p.m. ET on Saturday (June 12).
The best mark in preliminaries belonged to junior Sarah Nambawa of Middle Tennessee State, who leaped 13.79m. The top 12 athletes from the field of 27 advanced to the finals, where the national champion will be crowned and the top eight will earn All-America honors. James was an All-American in the triple jump in both the indoor and outdoor seasons last year.
