
Terrier Women Compete at Terrier Invitational

BOSTON - The Boston University women's track and field team had a number of strong finishes as it hosted the Terrier Invitational on Friday and Saturday at the Boston University Track and Tennis Center.
Sophomore Shelby Walton had a strong performance in the 55m dash, recording the top time amongst collegiate runners and placing second overall with a time of 7.15. Teammate Whitney Ford was close behind in fourth place, posting a 7.32 mark in the race. Walton (sixth, 25.42), Jackie Dim (fifth, 25.04) and Catherine Milledge (25.46) all had strong performances in the 200m dash, while Laura Martin was the second of three runners in the 300m dash, posting a time of 40.39. Dim also notched the third-best collegiate time in the 400m dash with a time of 56.50.
The Terriers also got solid results in the 55m hurdles as Nikko Brady posted the second-fastest collegiate time of 8.07 and Milledge was just off the pace in seventh place with an 8.54 mark. Karly Neveu's 1.67m mark in the high jump was good for third place in the event and Ford had the second longest mark by a collegiate athlete in the long jump, posting a distance of 5.64m.
The Terriers are back in action next weekend at the Battle of Beantown meet, hosted by Harvard University on Saturday, Feb. 6.
