Competing in her first America East Track and Field Outdoor Championship, freshman Allison Barwise became the first Terrier in program history to win the heptathlon, setting a championship record by compiling 5,104 points.
Her performance topped a seven-year-old America East Championship record of 4,754 set by Northeastern’s Nicole Parker. Also finishing third in the high jump, she was named Most Outstanding Rookie at the meet, in which the Terriers finished fourth.
Back in February, she won BU’s first pentathlon gold during the America East Indoor Championship, only missing out on the record by 37 points.
