
Walton Named America East Track Performer of the Week

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - After earning three wins at the Brown Invitational on Saturday, junior Shelby Walton of the Boston University women's track and field team has been named the America East Track Performer of the Week, the conference office announced on Tuesday.
At the invitational, Walton captured two individual events and was a member of one relay win for the Terriers. The Danbury, Conn., native secured first-place finishes in the 100m and 200m dashes with times of 12.18 and 24.82, respectively.
In the 4x100m relay, Walton, along with seniors Whitney Ford and Laura Martin and sophomore Catherine Milledge, placed first with a time of 46.94.
Earlier in the outdoor season, Walton earned a personal record and ran the fastest 100m dash (11.68) in America East at the Texas Relays.
BU's multi-event student-athletes will return to action at Holy Cross on Wednesday and Thursday (April 20-21), while the remainder of the squads will participate at the two-day Larry Ellis Invitational on Friday and Saturday (April 22-23) in Princeton, N.J.
