Freshman Rich Peters received Most Valuable Player honors for the 2010-11 Boston University men's track and field team after earning All-America honors for the mile run at the NCAA Indoor Championships.
During the America East Indoor Championships, he received the Most Outstanding Rookie award, BU's first winner since Dan Ruch took home the honor in 2005. The Bristol, England native set a conference record in the mile run and helped the 4x400m relay team finish first with a conference championship record time.
Representing the Terriers at the NCAAs, Peters finished 11th in the mile run to garner Second Team All-America accolades from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
Back in the fall, Peters took seventh at the AE Cross Country Championships, as the Terriers captured the program's first team title since 2000.
