2012-13 Indoor Track & Field Schedule
Highlighted by six meets at the Track and Tennis Center, director of track & field and cross country Robyne Johnson announced the 2012-13 indoor schedules for the men's and women's track & field programs.
The Terriers will compete in at least nine different meets this season and will travel outside of Boston a minimum of three times, including two meets at Harvard and one in New York City. The NCAA Championships will be held in Fayetteville, Ark., on March 8-9. BU sent two athletes to last year's championship meet, with Rich Peters and Allison Barwise each earning First Team All-America nods.
Both teams will begin the indoor season when BU hosts the Multi-Team Meet on Jan. 17. Prior to the official start of the season, the Terriers will host three "mini meets" on Dec. 15, 22 and 29. Athletes competing in either the pentathlon or heptathlon will travel to Cambridge, Mass., on the weekend of Jan. 18-19 for the Harvard Multi-Meet.
The annual Terrier Invitational will take place the weekend of Jan. 25-26. The women's team will compete on the first day beginning at 2 p.m., while the men's meet will be held the following day (9 a.m.)
BU will trek to New York City on Feb. 1-2 for the Collegiate Invitational. The Terriers will then be back at the Track and Tennis Center for the annual Valentine Invitational the weekend of Feb. 8-9. The women's meet will be that Friday (1 p.m.), while the men will compete the following morning (9 a.m.).
The Terriers will take part in the USATF New England Open Championships at Harvard on Feb. 17 before BU hosts the New England Championships at the Track and Tennis Center on Feb. 22-23.
The final meets of the season before the NCAA Championships will be the IC4A (Men) and ECAC (Women) Championships, both held at the Track and Tennis Center on March 1-3.
