Greenspun Finishes First in 1500m run at Snowflake Classic

MEDFORD, Mass. - Senior Joe Greenspun had a first-place showing in the 1500m run as the Boston University men's track & field team competed at the Snowflake Classic hosted by Tufts University on Saturday.
Greenspun finished with a time of 3:58.55. Freshman Ben Ravetz finished fifth in that event with a time of 4:05.00. In other track action, senior Michael Caputo turned in a sixth-place finish in the 5000m run (15:26.05).
The Terrier men also had several strong showings in the field events. In the pole vault, freshman Nikolaos Farmakidis placed second with a mark of 4.45m. Senior Sam Arsenault also had a second-place showing, as he had a leap of 6.39m in the long jump. Sophomore Pavan Mehat placed third in the triple jump (13.18m), while freshman Connor Sullivan had a mark of 1.81m in the high jump to place eighth.
Freshman Ethan Knight placed sixth in the discus with a throw of 40.36m. Junior Brian Leonard finished fourth in the 400m dash (51.52) and also earned an eighth-place finish in the 200m dash (23.17). In the hammer throw, freshman Michael Maloof finished fifth (46.84) while senior Mike Murowchick placed fifth in the javelin. In the shot put, senior Jeff Pelage of the men's basketball team earned a ninth-place finish (13.34m) in his first track & field competition of the year.
