PHILADELPHIA - The Boston University men's track & field team had a record-setting afternoon at the Penn Relays on Saturday, as the 4x400m relay team set a new school record to lead the Terriers at Franklin Field.
Juniors R.J. Page and Stephen Vitale teamed with seniors Tewado Latty and Joel Senick to finish second in the 4x400m IC4A final with a time of 3:08.85. That mark broke the quartet's previous school record time of 3:08.91 that was set at the Florida Relays earlier this year. The Terriers nearly won the event thanks to a fantastic anchor leg by Senick (46.20), but Delaware State edged BU by 16 hundredths of a second (3:08.69).
Page also performed well individually, as he finished fourth in the 100m dash championship event with a conference-best time of 10.65 seconds. Vitale had a strong showing in the 400m hurdles on Friday, as he crossed the finish line in ninth place with a time of 52.26 seconds.
BU will have a contingent of athletes competing at the Brown Springtime Open on Sunday (April 29).
