
Walton Recognized as National Strength and Conditioning All-American

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Senior Shelby Walton of the Boston University women’s track & field team was recognized as an All-American athlete, the National Strength and Conditioning Association announced.
"Shelby’s effort and focus on her training has led to continuous improvements throughout her first three years," head strength and conditioning coach Glenn Harris said. "Shelby continues to challenge herself to be better, not only in the weight room, but on the track as well."
The Danbury, Conn., native had a successful indoor season, as she claimed first place in the 200m dash at the America East Championships with a time of 23.99 seconds. That performance, along with a second-place showing in the 60m dash, helped the Terriers win the America East Championship, the 12th conference crown in program history.
In addition to her success during the 2012 indoor season, she was great during the 2011 outdoor season, garnering Most Outstanding Track Performer honors at the America East Championships. There, she won the 100m dash, 200m dash and was part of the first-place 4x100m relay team.
