Barwise Named to America East All-Academic Team

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Junior Allison Barwise was named to the America East Outdoor Track & Field All-Academic Team, the conference office announced on Wednesday.
Barwise was selected to the squad for the second straight season after she maintained a 3.64 grade-point average while majoring in speech, language and hearing science. She won the Coaches’ Award and was named Most Outstanding Field Performer at the America East Championships after she shattered her own heptathlon record and also won the high jump.
Her finest performance during the outdoor season came at the ECAC Championships, as she claimed first place and qualified for the U.S. Olympic Trials after reaching a height of 1.87m. That height also ensured her of the top seed at the NCAA East Preliminaries this weekend (May 24-26). She will compete in the national first round on Friday.
