NEW ORLEANS – Junior Allison Barwise of the Boston University women’s track & field team was named a Second-Team All-American, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced on Tuesday.
Barwise achieved a height of 1.83m in the national final of the high jump to finish tied for ninth place. She became the second Terrier in as many years to earn All-America accolades twice in a calendar year, as she was a first-team selection after placing fifth at the indoor championships in March with a mark of 1.81m.
This is the second major award for Barwise this month, as she was also named the Northeast Region Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year by the USTFCCCA on June 4. The Orange, Conn., native will next compete in the high jump at the U.S. Olympic Trials beginning on June 28. Barwise qualified for the trials by reaching a height of 1.87m at the ECAC Championships in May.
