NEW ORLEANS - Sophomore Rich Peters of the Boston University men's track & field team was selected as a First-Team All-American by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association on Tuesday.
Peters finished sixth in the national final of the 1500m run this past Saturday with a time of 3:44.66. That race capped off a record-setting weekend for Peters, as he broke a 26-year school record on Thursday in his semifinal heat with a time of 3:42.69.
The Bristol, England, native became the first Terrier male to earn All-America accolades in the same calendar year since Greg Gonsalves and Anthony Kenneally each accomplished that feat in 1986. Peters was the national runner-up in the mile during the indoor season en route to becoming a First-Team All-American in March.
