
Men's Tennis Concludes Fall Season at ITA Regionals

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Competing in the final event of the fall season for the Boston University men's tennis team, seniors Jesse Frieder and Chanon Varapongsittikul posted a doubles win at the ITA Northeast Regional on the campus of Yale University before facing elimination over the weekend.
The two Terriers posted an 8-2 victory over St. John's and then dropped an 8-3 decision to Columbia's top-seeded Narayana/Schnur.
Frieder and Varapongsittikul also represented BU in singles action. Frieder participated in the qualifying draw against Lehigh's Mitchell Petersen and came up just short in a hard-fought 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 defeat.
Varapongsittikul earned an automatic spot in the main draw but was eliminated in the first round by Dartmouth's Erik Nordahl, 6-0, 6-3.
With the fall season concluded, the Terriers will next return to the courts on Jan. 26, 2014 at the Track & Tennis Center against Fairfield.
