EASTON, Mass. - Led by four first-place finishes, the Boston University men's track and field team took third place at the Skyhawk Invitational at Stonehill on Friday night.

Senior Tewado Latty won the 400m dash with a time of 47.87 seconds. Freshman Alec Olson set a new personal best in the 3,000m steeplechase with a first-place time of 9:17.11, 24 seconds clear of the second-place competitor. Two other freshmen were victorious, as Kevin Thomas won the 1,500m run (3:52.95) and Reuben Horace claimed the hammer throw (56.87m).

The Terriers had two other harriers in the top 10 of the 1,500m run, as seniors Elliot Lehane (3:54.76) and Robert Gibson (3:57.48) finished fourth and seventh, respectively. In the 5,000m run, freshman Paul Gennaro grabbed fourth place (15:17.29) and senior Terrance Galasso secured seventh place (15:34.41).

Other top-10 performances on the track included senior Sam Arsenault's fifth-place finish in the 110m hurdles (17.09), sophomore Etinosa Obaseki's seventh-place time in the 100m dash (11.73) and classmate Alex Civitano's eighth-place performance in the 800m run (1:58.27).

In the field events, sophomore Michael Maloof was second in the hammer throw with a toss of 51.22 meters. Senior Adam Weaver finished second in the pole vault with a mark of 4.40 meters whole classmate Sam Wuest was third in the high jump (1.98m).

Junior Pavan Mehat's leap of 13.64 meters in the triple jump was good for third place while junior Nat Hinckley (34.24m) and freshman Young Guang (33.34m) were sixth and seventh, respectively, in the discus. Guang was also fifth in the shot put (11.56m).

BU will conclude the weekend with athletes competing at the Penn Relays and the Payton Jordan Invitational.
