CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Senior Tewado Latty of the Boston University men's track and field team was named America East Track Performer of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday.
Latty finished 14th in the 400m dash at the highly competitive Florida Relays with a time of 47.16 seconds, which is the fastest in the America East this season. The conference record holder in the event, Latty now ranks 20th in the Division I East Region after his performance this past weekend.
His performance in Florida is a continuation of a strong 2013, as Latty was part of the 4x200m relay team that set a new school record at the Texas Relays the previous weekend. During the indoor season, Latty helped the 4x400m relay team to a school record and the fastest time of any New England school in history at the IC4A Championships.
BU will be back in action on Saturday at the George Mason Invitational.
