CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Senior Monica Adler and freshman Toria Levy of the Boston University women's track & field team, along with freshman Cameron Williams of the men's track & field team, earned Patriot League weekly honors, the conference announced on Tuesday.
Adler was named Female Track Athlete of the Week after two terrific performances at the Scarlet and White Invitational on Saturday. She shattered ECAC standards while placing second in the mile (4:37.97) and seventh in the 3,000m run (9:45.47). The career-best mark in the mile is the top time in the Patriot League and puts her at No. 16 in Division I, while the 3,000m time is also a personal record and third-best in the conference this year.
Levy earned Female Rookie of the Week honors after she helped the 4x400m relay team break its own school record with an ECAC-qualifying time of 3:42.49 on Saturday. The time is more than seven seconds faster than any other Patriot League team this season. Levy also placed sixth in the finals of the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.32 seconds after recording a mark of 9.14 seconds during prelims.
Williams was recognized as Male Rookie of the Week following a victory in the 200m dash on Saturday. His IC4A-qualifying time of 21.65 seconds places him third among all Patriot League competitors this season. He also finished sixth in the 60m dash with a mark of 7.11 seconds.
The Terriers will make their debut at the Patriot League Championships this weekend (Feb. 21-23). The three-day competition will be held in Lewisburg, Pa.
