CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Freshman Brittany Younan of the Boston University softball team was named Patriot League Rookie of the Week, the conference announced Monday afternoon. She is the second Terrier in three weeks to receive the honor after classmate Moriah Connolly was recognized back on Feb. 25.
Younan had a hand in nine of the 25 runs scored by the Terriers (6-8) in a 2-3 week with six runs scored and three RBIs. The Chico, Calif., native recorded a .412 batting average and .529 slugging percentage while swiping two bags.
Playing at third this past weekend, she had a key RBI triple and RBI single in Boston University's 7-6 win over Southern Illinois. She also scored twice in 10-2 win over Providence.
BU is currently in Clearwater, Fla., for an extended Spring Break trip. The Terriers will next play Quinnipiac (11:00 a.m.) and Cleveland State (1:15 p.m.) on Tuesday (March 11).
