CORAL GABLES, Fla. - Facing its fourth ranked opponent of the season, the Boston University men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision at No. 65 Miami on Saturday afternoon.
Sweeping through doubles and winning five singles points, the Hurricanes improved to 8-4, while the Terriers fell to 5-8.
Miami won the top two doubles matches by identical scores of 8-4 and then won the next three singles points in straight sets.
Sophomore Mario Sandoval led the Terriers at No. 4 singles by rallying from a set down for a 3-6, 6-3, 10-2 victory over William Albanese. Senior Chanon Varapongsittikul almost earned another point against the Hurricane's No. 1 Omar Aly but dropped the super tiebreaker for the 5-7, 6-2, 12-10 defeat.
The Terriers will next host fellow Patriot League member Holy Cross on Thursday, March 27, at 3 p.m.
