
Peters Places Fourth in Mile at NCAA Championships

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Senior Rich Peters of the Boston University men's track & field team finished fourth in the mile at the NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field Championships hosted by the University of New Mexico at the Albuquerque Convention Center on Saturday night.
Peters crossed the finish line with a time of 4:03.49, less than a second behind the winner, Anthony Rotich of UTEP (4:02.54). It is his second top-five finish in the national final of the mile; he was runner-up in 2012. Peters also competed in the 3,000m run later in the evening but did not finish the race.
The Bristol, England, native broke three school records during the 2014 indoor season, including the collegiate record in the 1,000m run (2:18.55). He also eclipsed his own record in the mile (3:57.27) and set a new standard in the 3,000m run (7:52.61). Peters was named the Patriot League Male Track Athlete of the Year after winning both the mile the 1,000m run at the Patriot League Championships.
