NEW ORLEANS - Senior Rich Peters of the Boston University men's track and field team joined classmate Monica Adler of the women's track & field team as a U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) First-Team All-American, as announced Monday.
Peters finished fourth in the mile at the NCAA Championships to earn his second first-team indoor honor. He was also a USTFCCCA First-Team All-America selection in the 1,500m run during the 2012 outdoor season and earlier that year in the mile. This is Peters' fifth All-America accolade overall.
Adler earned her first USTFCCCA All-America selection after an eighth-place finish in the mile at the NCAA Championships. She concluded her fantastic indoor season with a time of 4:40.87 in the final during her NCAA championship debut. Adler also had the fifth-fastest time in the semifinals at 4:42.56.
First-team honors were given to those who placed in the championships’ top eight in an event or were a member of an eight-person final.
