
Six Terriers Victorious at Sean Collier Invitational

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Boston University men’s track & field team competed at the Sean Collier Invitational hosted by MIT on Saturday, April 19.
BU totaled six victories, led by junior Ethan Knight. He took first in the shot put (15.62m) and was also victorious in the discus (47.02m). Senior Connor Sullivan won the high jump with a mark of 2.03 meters while junior Nikolaos Farmakidis (4.80m) won the pole vault, an event that included sophomores Fritz Howser (4.50m) and Brian Shaefer (4.35m), who finished third and fourth, respectively.
Sophomore Reuben Horace won the hammer throw (58.01m) with junior Michael Maloof behind him in third (55.06m). Senior Manuel Pastrana also earned a victory, claiming first in the javelin (61.48m). Freshman Sebastian Prieto Vasquez was fourth in the discus (47.02m) and seventh in the shot put (12.43m) while Maloof (35.27m) and sophomore Young Guang (26.62m) took part in the discus. Sophomore Devon Lattrell was seventh in the javelin (51.72m).
Seniors Blake Edwards (51.65) and Nat Hinckley (52.31) joined Prieto Vasquez (54.85) in competing in the 400m dash. Freshman Jake Ferriero had a time of 4:06.95 in the 1,500m run and Edwards also competed in the javelin (38.07m).
BU will be back in action April 24-26 in the Penn Relays, with athletes also competing at the Skyhawk Invitational in Easton, Mass.
