
Terriers Take Second at Skyhawk Invitational

EASTON, Mass. – The Boston University men’s track & field team finished second at the Skyhawk Invitational hosted by Stonehill on Friday night.
The Terriers tallied 127.50 points, behind only the host Skyhawks (157). Five different Terriers were victorious, with two on the track and three in field events.
BU boasted three athletes in the top 10 of the 1,500m run, led by winner Kevin Thomas. The sophomore crossed the finish line first with a time of 3:51.26. Classmate Alec Olson (3:52.13) took third and junior Alex Civitano (3:58.00) was seventh. Also competing in that event was sophomore Paul Gennaro (4:02.53), junior John McKeon (4:05.69), freshman Jake Ferriero (4:12.57) and sophomore Syian Srikumar (4:17.12).
Freshman Cameron Williams (21.92) and sophomore David Lagerberg (21.98) took the top two spots in the 200m dash, with freshman Alastair Prenn (23.00) finishing 10th in that event. Williams was also second in the 100m dash with a personal-best time of 11.06 seconds. Freshman Ethan Homan was fourth in the 800m run with a time of 1:55.63. Freshmen Bruce Greene (11.67) and Sebastian Prieto Vasquez (12.09) competed in the 100m dash while Greene (23.63) also ran the 200m dash.
Junior Ethan Knight earned his second straight victory in the shot put with a toss of 15.54 meters while freshman James Barnett was ninth with a mark of 12.33 meters. Knight also finished second in the discus (46.59m). Junior Michael Maloof was also victorious, as he took first in the hammer throw with a mark of 52.44 meters. The third victory in the field events came via senior Connor Sullivan and his first-place height of 2.00 meters in the high jump.
Senior Manuel Pastrana placed second in the javelin with a throw of 60.12 meters while junior Nikolaos Farmakidis (4.65m) was runner-up in the pole vault. Prieto Vasquez (40.79m), Maloof (36.57m), Hinckley (34.44) and sophomore Young Guang (33.76m) were fifth, eighth, ninth and 11th, respectively, in the discus.
Freshman Tyler Malone placed third in the triple jump (13.48m) and fifth in the long jump (6.29m) while sophomore Devon Lattrell was eighth in the javelin with a mark of 47.43 meters. Sophomore Fritz Howser (4.35m), senior Nat Hinckley (4.05m) and sophomore Brian Shaefer (4.05m) were fourth, sixth and eight, respectively, in the pole vault.
