WESTFIELD, Mass. - The Boston University men's track & field team competed at the New England Championships on Friday and Saturday at Westfield State University.
BU sent a small but strong contingent to Westfield and finished with 19 points, better than over half of the 38-team field. All six Terriers earned a top-10 finish.
Sophomore Reuben Horace was fifth in the hammer throw with a mark of 59.00 meters and junior Michael Maloof also had a top-10 finish in that event, turning in a throw of 55.63 meters to place ninth. Senior Manuel Pastrana finished fifth in the javelin with a toss of 59.30 meters while senior Connor Sullivan tied for fourth in the high jump (2.00m).
Junior Nikolaos Farmakidis also had a top-five finish, taking fifth in the pole vault (4.85m). Classmate Ethan Knight placed sixth in the discus with a throw of 46.86 meters.
The Terriers will take aim at the IC4A Championships next weekend (May 16-18) in Princeton, N.J.
