EUGENE, Ore. - Rosa Moriello of the Boston University women's track & field team competed at the 2014 NCAA Division I Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday afternoon at the University of Oregon's Hayward Field.
Moriello finished 18th in the 5,000m run with a time of 16:31.13. Saturday marked her debut at the NCAA Championships after she qualified with a personal-best time of 16:03.57. That finish came after a second-place performance at the ECAC Championships (16:18.08) and a victory in her debut at the Patriot League Championships (16:46.08); Moriello crossed the finish line nearly 20 seconds faster than the second-place competitor in that win.
The Naugatuck, Connecticut, native will return to BU in 2014-15 and compete in cross country as well as the indoor and outdoor seasons. Moriello helped lead BU to all three conference titles in 2013-14 and was the individual conference champion in cross country. In addition to her outdoor title, she was the 3,000m Patriot League champion during the indoor season.
