LONDON - Rich Peters of the Boston University men's track & field team has been named to Team England's Athletics squad and will compete at the 2014 Commonwealth Games held in Glasgow, Scotland, as announced on Monday.
Peters is one of three men who will race in the 1,500m run for England at the 20th edition of the Commonwealth Games, a multi-sport event involving athletes from the Commonwealth of Nations. It will be held July 23-August 3.
The honor comes after Peters completed a stellar 2014 at the collegiate level. He was a two-time USTFCCCA All-American, including a second-team selection in the 1,500m run. Peters' best time in that event this past season was 3:38.83 at the USATF High Performance Distance Classic. The Bristol, England, native will return for his final year of eligibility for the 2014-15 track & field season.
