The Orange, Connecticut, native was also named Patriot League Field Athlete of the Meet after setting two league records and three school records at the conference championships. She ranked third in the NCAA in the high jump after achieving a record height of 1.89 meters and was also ninth in the nation in the heptathlon after amassing a record 5628 points. Barwise was selected as the winner in a vote of sports information directors from all 10 Patriot League full member schools. Each school had one vote and could not select its own student-athletes.
