All three goals that former Boston University skaters put in the back of an NHL net this past week came on the power play, including one from Buffalo rookie Jack Eichel. Eichel also recorded the first and second multi-point games of his career. In all, former Terriers scored three goals and had five assists.
Defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk returned to the ice for the first time since Oct. 13 and helped St. Louis earn consecutive shutouts against Nashville and New Jersey.
The New Jersey Devils, coached by former BU winger John Hynes, have gone 7-3-0 in their last 10 games and are 8-6-1 overall.
Nick Bonino (PIT)
• Tallied his first power-play goal of the season in Pittsburgh's 5-2 loss to Calgary on 11/7
• Leads Pittsburgh centers with a 56.3 faceoff percentage, which also ranks 18th in the league among players with at least 10 games played
Alex Chiasson (OTT)
• Scored his second goal of the season during Ottawa's 3-2 overtime loss to Carolina on 11/7
• His +6 turnover differential is 20th in the NHL
Adam Clendening (PIT)
• Last skated for Pittsburgh in a 2-0 win over Ottawa on 10/15
Charlie Coyle (MIN)
• Assisted on Jared Spurgeon's game-winning goal and earned third star of the game in Minnesota's 1-0 win over Tampa Bay on 11/7
• Had an assist and skated a season-high 20:06 during Minnesota's 5-3 win over Winnipeg on 11/10
Jack Eichel (BUF)
• Recorded the first and second assists of his career and won a game-high 75-percent of his face-offs during Buffalo's 3-2 win over Vancouver on 11/7
• Had his second-consecutive multi-point game on 11/10 when he notched a goal and an assist in Buffalo's 4-1 win over Tampa Bay
Eric Gryba (EDM)
• Had a season-high four shots on goal during Edmonton's 4-2 loss to Chicago on 11/8
• His 28 hits and 31 blocks are first and second on the team, respectively, and his block total ranks 13th overall in the NHL
Matt Nieto (SJS)
• Averaging 19.6 shifts and 1.3 shots on goal per game
• Has skated in all of the Sharks' contests this year
Kevin Shattenkirk (STL)
• Skated 19:00 and registered a shot on goal in his return to the ice on Nov. 7 after missing 10 games due to injury
• Needs just one more point to reach 200 for his career
Brian Strait (NYI)
• Averaging 20.2 shifts per game and 15:42 TOI
• Has 9.4 hits and 3.2 blocked shots per 60 minutes on ice
Colin Wilson (NSH)
• In Nashville's top 10 for hits per game (1.15), shifts per game (21.2), shots (23), assists (5) and points (6)
