BURLINGTON, Vt. - Sophomore Tynan Lawrence scored his third goal of the season but the No. 11 Boston University men's ice hockey team suffered a 2-1 setback at Vermont on Friday night at Gutterson Fieldhouse.

BU (2-1-0, 0-1-0 HE) leveled the score in the first period thanks to Lawrence and the teams were deadlocked until Vermont (1-1-0, 1-0-0 HE) broke the tie at 8:10 of the third period.

Sophomore Jack Murtagh and freshman Viktor Nörringer had the assists on Lawrence's strike. Junior Mikhail Yegorov made 22 saves.

HOW IT HAPPENED

UVM opened the scoring 12:18 into the proceedings with a shot from the point that Yegorov never saw.
Lawrence evened the score with 5:16 to play in the first frame. He skated below the goal line and dished the puck in front to Murtagh. The puck bounced off a UVM defender and past Jacob Oster.
The Terriers thought they took the lead in the final minute of the second stanza, but the goal was immediately waved off and after video review the call stood.
Vermont took the lead with 11:50 remaining in regulation. Yegorov made the initial stop but the UVM took advantage of a fortuitous bounce and knocked home the rebound.
The Terriers pressured for an equalizer and pulled Yegorov in favor of an extra attacker for the final two minutes but was unable to find the back of the net.
